USA – If you watch the TV you are bombarded with advertisements for the Microsoft Cloud. There are other clouds out there. So what is the attraction and why is Microsux, Google and other Web providers so keen to get you to use the cloud?

Well it all has to do with the NSA and America’s paranoid response to having caught up by China in the economic stakes. Worse that that China will surpass the US in the next couple of years!

Former employee of the Central Intelligence Agency and contractor for the National Security Agency Edward Snowden let the cat out of the bag when he revealed that extent of the spying programs, and the extent of the cooperation between the NSA and the Computer / Internet industry.

There are no innocents in the this apart from the customers who are being ripped off comprehensively. It is clear that all US software packages are loaded with espionage friendly features. Paid for by the US taxpayer. Fine if you are a US citizen. This is what you voted for.

But for the rest of the world it is a nightmare. Some years ago the CIA has even admitted that it provides economic intelligence to US companies about their European and Asian competitors. The US border security already takes data dumps from all incoming electronic equipment.

It doesn’t take a great leap in the imagination to guess that the easy way to spy is through the internet hook ups. A snooping agenda if you want a buzz word for it.

So what is the British Government doing to help protect the commercial secrets of British companies?

Yes You guessed it. Absolutely nothing. In fact it is far worse than nothing. Our GCHQ collaborates wholesale with the NSA to undermine the competitiveness of British companies. Our Government is a wholly owned division of the USA corporation.

So how do you keep your data safe? Simple Never ever connect the computer that it is on, to the internet.
